Unmotivated. Weak. The one who always explains why he didn’t get results. You know what kind of people I’m talking about. About “could have been”, “should have been”, “almost was”. Are you one of them? Or do you grasp your dreams, control your desires, and pursue them? Do you have courage, determination, inner strength, stubbornness, endurance and that beastly desire for what will one day undoubtedly be yours? Do you want to be great? Strong? Can you muster enough strength and desire to give your all every time you are in the gym? Can you mentally tell yourself to hell with the world and everything in it, because all that exists now are the weights I’m lifting?
Listen, brothers. Motivation is the key to everything in life. In the world of iron only those who are motivated will survive. There’s nothing like feeling the adrenaline coursing through your veins that makes you shake, sweat and fill with rage and anger before every heavy lift. Man, it’s the best feeling ever. I love it. You have to like it. And if you don’t like it, you’ll probably have to buy a fitness magazine and study it all over to tone up that fat ass of yours. Did I say it? Sorry, maybe I was too harsh, but damn, that’s Beast Training.
Lifting the iron requires motivation. Growing to such monstrous proportions as we consider monsters certainly requires motivation. My favorite motivators are heavy music, new gyms, and other workout buddies to compete with during training. Training with someone much bigger and stronger than you is a great motivator. In the end, probably the strongest motivator for me is finding that thought that fires me up enough to fully engage my muscles.
I won’t share my thoughts because they are my own and might be a little skewed, but they strike me. What would life be like if you didn’t have a backbone? I don’t know because I have one. But I imagine he would be filled with fear of falling to the point of leaving a doormat for anyone who wanted to wipe their feet on you. Will you let others wash your feet? Can you find a way to light a flame within yourself that helps you achieve your goal? Look at the few people in the world who are successful in life, they are all motivated. Heck, even the world’s most notorious criminals have motivations to commit crimes. A highly motivated individual can inspire everyone around.
Now you’re probably thinking, how the hell is this ink supposed to motivate me? Here is a man. I want you to choose a goal. It doesn’t matter if it’s a few extra pounds on the barbell or a few inches on your muscles, choose what you want. Be realistic because you will never gain 50kg of pure muscle mass in a month, no matter how motivated you are. Now ask yourself “why did I choose this goal?” Is it because you want to impress a girl? Maybe you’re tired of being fat? Or maybe you want to break records in competitions and look like a damn Beast. The reason you chose such a goal is the thing that should motivate you.
Take the leash off your dirty underwear and get moving. Not tomorrow, not today. Don’t put it off. Get to work right away. Believe in yourself and you will get what you want. No. You won’t get anything if you go. You have to attack and take what’s yours. Take it because you know that if you don’t your heart will never forget it and you will give up. Think about how you will feel when you let go of your purpose and desires…
Another thing I love about what I do is knowing that I’m doing exactly what I want to do my whole life. I’ve never let anyone tell me otherwise. I remember the first time I competed in a non-junior competition my family members asked me “Why do you still do this?” I had some great successes in my family, but most others just existed. They never got what they wanted. Most of them thought I was just wasting my time. It’s funny how the same people praise me now that I’m in magazines and on TV. They no longer doubt me. It’s fuel for me. I’m different. And you?
Would you say that when you were 16 and wanted to make it big and compete for the professional title, you pushed yourself as hard as you could? I can. And I say this not to brag, but it’s a great feeling when I can say that I had a dream and instead of letting it go like everyone else, I pursued it at all costs. I hope this will encourage my kids when I have them and show them that if you really want to achieve something, you will. Competing, training, dieting and making sacrifices, it all seems so difficult, but when you get a damn title medal nailed to the wall, it’s the best feeling in the world. And no one can take it away from you.
So what is it about you? This is the moment. There is only the present. Tomorrow is a dream plus a wasted day. Can you really get what you want? Yes, but only if you are motivated. it’s you? Or do you think tomorrow will come and bring you motivation? Well, while you wait for tomorrow, I’ll be doing super heavy squats and deadlifts today. Beasts? Yes, we are. Why? Because we know what we want and we work to get it without waiting for tomorrow.
Be yourself. Don’t pretend to be someone else. Be smart. Don’t waste time. Find the flame within you and transform it into the greater flame. Take control of your destiny and never give up. Stop explaining. Start doing something that will actually help you achieve your goal. No amount of pleasure will make your dream come true. If your dream is to be big, strong, lift huge weights, compete and win, then make it happen. Get up the fuck. The only thing that scares me is the thought that one day I might not have a dream anymore, so I won’t let that happen until I have everything I want. Accept it. Be the Beast. To hell with everything else.
